April CACC Update from Susan & Ken
March was an incredibly busy and fun month! Highlights included our annual Winter Birding excursion to Stellwagen Bank which was another sell-out, even with COVID restrictions. The Irish Sweepstakes Raffle was a fun-filled virtual event where we gave away $20,000 in cash prizes! Our Spring Cape Ann Caucus again offered a unique and valuable collaboration with our state and local elected officials and leadership from across Cape Ann. We held several community Division Meetings, networking events and multiple in-person, well-distanced Ribbon Cuttings including one at the new Cape Ann YMCA building which is spectacular!
Spring is definitely in the air and we are in a race to defeat the pandemic with thousands in the Commonwealth and millions across our nation being vaccinated every day. With the warming weather, we offer new opportunities to connect and grow your business. We continue offering two virtual networking opportunities each month. Our popular Coffee & Connections is the first Thursday (April 1) at 9 AM, and Business After Hours is fourth Wednesday (April 28) at 4:30 PM. April is also the month that we go to print with all of our 2021 publications for distribution in May, as well as the key planning month for our upcoming Education Fundraiser Golf Tournament at Bass Rocks – proceeds go to supporting all that we do with our local schools through our Business Education Collaborative including providing scholarships to our Cape Ann students. Please contact us if you would like to play golf or sponsor this important and fun event. See more on our April work here: 1623 videocast: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dq6Qexmim-I
Our Cape Ann Community Foundation just completed their third low number license plate auction. Another ten low number Cape Ann license plates were sold, raising more than $10,000 dollars! These funds go towards improved regional promotion, economic development, and training/education. This is the fifth year of funding and grant applications have just been announced and are due by June 1. See the lovecapeann link if you would like more information http://www.lovecapeann.com/. Show the love with a new Cape Ann License plate!
