Happy Spring in Greater Cape Ann! What a glorious season of life in bloom! Spring is a time to welcome new and returning visitors, enjoy the natural beauty of the region, celebrate the accomplishments of our graduating classes, and explore our countless beautiful natural spaces.
We continue the focus on promoting Greater Cape Ann as a place to visit in every season and May was no exception. The Chamber held our first Businesswoman’s Golf Event at the Ipswich Club, and we will be back next year! Our Annual Golf Tournament at Bass Rocks Country Club in Gloucester was a huge success, with over 100 golfers enjoying a beautiful day on the course. The 2nd Annual WellFest at Harvey Park in Downtown Rockport brought great energy to downtown as this event coincided with EMS Day and tours of Motif No. 1. Ipswich was also in the mix, literally, with our Annual Tourism Mixer at the Great House at that Crane Estate. Over 75 attendees were present at the Estate to network and share ideas about promoting our exceptional region.
As we move into June, we prepare for the energy of summer. Much adventure awaits in each of our five communities! Whether it’s a stroll in downtown Manchester-By-The-Sea, a stop at one of the many outstanding Essex restaurants, an afternoon of shopping in Rockport, an adventure on the sea in Gloucester, a trip to a landmark museum in Ipswich, or a combination of these, you will be delighted.
June also marks Small Business Week, and we will celebrate our Small Business Award Winners at our Annual Celebration at the Castle Manor Inn in Gloucester. We hope you can join the celebration as we recognize the outstanding leaders in each of our 5 communities for their service and dedication. We will also acknowledge our 2023 Scholarship Recipients for their distinguished accomplishments.
Finally, our committees meet monthly to review progress and collaborate on growth ideas. Joining a committee is a great way to engage in the Chamber’s mission, give back to our communities, network with your peers, and most importantly, they are rewarding and fun! As always, feel free to contact the Chamber if you would like to get more involved in community support.
Respectfully,
Loran Caputo, President, GCACC Board of Directors
