MANCHESTER — Festival-by-the-Sea takes place Saturday when this seaside village becomes the place to go for music, entertainment, food, art and more. Visitors can take in the sights of Masconomo Park while surveying the art and handcrafted items assembled by local talent.
The event, starting at 10 a.m., is free. There will be ample parking with a complimentary shuttle to and from satellite parking areas. Organizers suggest packing a blanket for a day of music, inspired artistry and delicious, locally grown foods. This all-day extravaganza also highlights the idyllic beauty of Cape Ann.
Tapping into the area’s wealth of musical and artistic talents, the family-friendly festival will feature live music on two stages throughout the day, culminating in an evening waterfront concert in Masconomo Park. Chris Trapper of the Push Stars will perform at 6 p.m. in the park.
While walking through town, visitors will be able to peruse the art and handcrafted items created by some of the area’s finest artists, craftsmen, and jewelry designers.
Friends of the Manchester Public Library are hosting a book sale at the library from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Local restaurants will showcase some of their creations while area farmers and co-ops will be on hand with locally grown fruits and vegetables.
