Backyard Growers, the Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce, and Gloucester Housing Authority welcomed over 50 residents of Willowood Gardens to join us in envisioning a new arts-inspired food-growing and gathering space called agriCulture that will celebrate the power of food and food traditions. The new space will build on four years of community connection among residents growing their own food at the Willowood Community Garden that Backyard Growers created there in 2017. agriCulture is funded in part by the Essex County Community Foundation’s Creative County Initiative (CCI). Launched in 2018 through a partnership with the Barr Foundation, CCI is designed – through a variety of programs – to elevate arts, culture and the creative economy in Essex County.
