Project Adventure – More than a “Ropes Course”

February 6, 2025

Did you know that Project Adventure is much more than a “ropes course?” In this episode of Cape Ann Conversations, Cailtin Small, Executive Director & CEO of Project Adventure, brings awareness to the many diverse opportunities they offer schools and organizations worldwide.

Founded in 1971 at Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School, Project Adventure is now an international nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing learning and development through adventure-based experiential programming. The organization’s mission focuses on building social and emotional skills such as communication, collaboration, empathy, patience, problem-solving, and persistence. Participants develop personal confidence, mutual support within groups, and a deeper connection to the natural world through activities like challenge courses and team-building initiatives. Project Adventure’s programs have been shown to improve students’ leadership abilities, awareness of others’ needs, and problem-solving skills, contributing to enhanced mental and physical well-being.
