“Mind the Light,” a book of poetry about Rockport’s Thacher Island by award-winning author Suellen Wedmore, has been released. Wedmore, who has been a lighthouse keeper on Thacher Island, tells the stories of five women lighthouse keepers of the past — Maria Bray, Abbie Burgess, Kate Walker, Catherine Moore and Ida Lewis. Each heroine was carefully researched.

“Mind the Light” won the QuillsEdge Press on the Edge Award for 2014.
