CEO & President’s Update – December 2023

The holiday season is here on Greater Cape Ann! This festive time is also a time for thoughtful reflection, and a time to remember the people who helped us throughout the year. Looking back on 2023 brings an immediate and overwhelming sense of gratitude, pride, and joy. We are grateful for the support provided by our community partners, who are unparalleled in their generosity, dedication, and willingness to make our communities a better place to live, work, and play.  We are proud to be part of Greater Cape Ann – a place of exquisite natural, cultural, and historical beauty. (Yes, it is not lost that we are celebrating our 400+ anniversary in the oldest seaport in the nation). Finally, we are joyful because together we celebrate another amazing year on Greater Cape Ann and share our love for our region with neighbors and visitors. No matter the season, nor the weather, we are joyful for the magic of the season on Greater Cape Ann.

We appreciate you, our neighbors, visitors, co-workers, volunteers, and all who come together to make up our community. We are a community that shares, cares, creates, endures, and continues to carry our remarkable legacy into the future.

We especially thank you, our members, for your unwavering support and the honor to support and represent you. We look forward to working in partnership with you in 2024.

Finally, during the holiday season, we would be remiss if we did not mention shopping local. This is a truly enjoyable experience and the perfect way to support our business community this time of year. You can purchase gifts only found on Greater Cape Ann, and spread cheer mixing with your friends, neighbors, and local merchants. Please check out the Chamber Calendar of events for all the holiday happenings.

Whatever your plans this holiday season, we wish you warmth, peace, happiness, and health!

Respectfully,

Loran Caputo, President, GCACC Board of Directors

Steve Buckley, CEO Greater Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce
