It’s hard to believe November is here!
Despite the many rainy Autumn days, our businesses are reporting a strong and busy season. We continue to welcome visitors from near and far to share the beauty, culture, adventure, and charm of our region. We are blessed to live and work in this special and unique place.
Fall on greater Cape Ann is in full swing with a variety of events and happenings ahead.
Election season is upon us, and The Greater Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce was pleased to host the Gloucester Mayoral, Councilor At Large, and School Committee debates to provide the opportunity for membership and the general public to learn more about the candidates and the current issues impacting our community.
The Chamber is also pleased to host Division and Community Meetings in our 5 Cities and Towns, where we gather to share ideas, express concerns, and collaborate on initiatives. If you are interested in attending these meetings, please visit the Chamber’s website for details. We continue to work with community officials, business leaders, and residents to address areas of local concern including housing, labor, parking, and support for our businesses.
Specifically, we are hosting a free discussion panel to address workforce challenges and solutions on November 9th at Cruiseport in Gloucester. Labor issues affect every aspect of our present business climate, and we hope our panel of business experts will be informative, insightful, and beneficial to assist to deal with these challenges.
The Greater Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce continues to work to build and strengthen connections between local commerce and our local communities. We are exploring a new community initiative to shop local 365 days a year and have distributed a survey as your valuable feedback will help further this project.
Finally, Shop Local Saturday and holiday shopping days are just around the corner! (Can you believe the holiday season is almost here!) Shopping local supports our business community, and offers gifts, goods, and services unique to greater Cape Ann.
Respectfully,
Loran Caputo, President, GCACC Board of Directors
Steve Buckley, CEO Greater Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce
