January 2023 has been a great start to the new year.
We had a very successful Board of Directors Retreat at the Shalin Liu Performing Arts Center in Rockport, resetting priorities for 2023 including “Connecting Commerce and Community.” Some specific initiatives include: improving cross promotion of service and events amongst Chamber members, increasing our visibility as a place to live, work, visit and play, enhance cultural initiatives and to continue to grow our economy in a responsible and thoughtful way.
Also, the Chamber held our Annual Celebration and welcomed Loran Caputo as our 2023 Board of Director’s President. The event was sold out, and all in attendance really enjoyed the evening.
We have very active and engaged committees and collaborative meetings and we look to continue to grow on our progress in 2023. Our committees and collaboratives are in the midst of planning upcoming events as well as events and initiatives throughout the calendar year. Joining a committee is a great way to engage in the Chamber’s mission, give back to our communities, network with your peers and most importantly, they are rewarding and fun. As always, feel free to reach out to the Chamber if you would like to get more involved.
February is a great time of year to explore Greater Cape Ann. Whether it’s a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner at one of our wonderful area restaurants, a “staycation” enjoying our local attractions, or one of our exciting seasonal events of the season, such as The Firelight Nights and Beach Winterfest at the Crane Estate and Crane Beach. Please visit our full listing of upcoming events on our website.
February is beautiful month on Greater Cape Ann and reminds us any time is a good time of year to shop local, stay local and play local.
Sincerely,
Loran Caputo, Board President Steve Buckley, CEO
