February has been a very productive month at the Chamber.
Our Board of Directors and Chamber Team continue to focus on our priorities for 2023 including “Connecting Commerce and Community”. We continue to focus on improving cross promotion of services and events amongst Chamber members, increasing our visibility as a place to live, work, visit and play, enhance cultural initiatives and to continue to grow our economy in a responsible and thoughtful way.
We continue to focus on promoting Greater Cape Ann as a place to visit in every season, with events such as Firelight Nights at the Crane State, Winter Birding Tours or Gloucester So Salty, being examples of fun and engaging Winter events around Greater Cape Ann.
We have a very busy calendar in March including our Economic Outlook Breakfast on March 8th, with guest speaker: Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll addressing economic issues important to our region as well as initiatives across the state of Massachusetts.
Thursday March 9th, we will be back in person for the Career and College Fair at Gloucester High School from 5-7pm. We have over 85 colleges and 40 professional representatives attending. We will also be hosting our Manchester by the Sea Division Meeting to hear from businesses and residents.
Friday March 10th will be our Cape Ann Caucus. This is a great opportunity to hear from our local leaders.
If you are looking for some fun and “luck o’ the Irish”, please join us for our annual Irish Sweepstakes at the Gloucester Elks, on March 16th.
We have very active and engaged committees and collaborative meetings where we look to continue to grow on 2022’s progress. Our committees and collaboratives are in the midst of planning upcoming events as well as events and initiatives throughout the calendar year. Joining a committee is a great way to engage in the Chamber’s mission, give back to our communities, network with your peers and most importantly, they are rewarding and fun. As always, feel free to reach out to the Chamber if you would like to get more involved.
Respectfully,
Loran Caputo, Board President Steve Buckley, CEO
