What an amazing June on greater Cape Ann!
First, congratulations to our Small Businessperson of the Year Award Winners! Congratulations Jack and Kathy Porter, Remie Reader, John Muldoon, Erika Brown, and the Ellis family! The vital services of your small businesses repair our homes and vehicles, and provide the community with reliable news, information, and education. Small businesses are the frontline and backbone of our community. They are part of our past, present, and future economy. Small businesses are our neighbors, our friends, our family. These exceptional small businesspeople are first to support us and our local organizations and it is important that we always remember to support them as they create the fabric of our special, unique community.
June 2024 is especially memorable for greater Cape Ann with the landmark event of the 1st Pride Weekend. The Chamber and the Cape Ann Pride Coalition, alongside our many supportive community sponsors, organized the first ever Pride Weekend on greater Cape Ann where the community celebrated the culture of our LGBTQIA+ community.
We received incredibly positive feedback from the community, as they expressed newfound feelings of inclusion, vibrancy, and the ability to build deeper local networks.
In June the greater Ipswich community honored the bravery, sacrifice, and commitment of our veterans, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the D-Day Invasion with an incredible D-Day Parade and Celebration on June 8th. Locals and visitors showed up in the thousands to pay respect, honor and celebrate our veterans.
As we sail into July, we are met with the excitement, activity, celebration, exploration, and relaxation of a beautiful Cape Ann summer.
We hope you enjoy every moment.
