The Chamber’s Health & Wellness Group had their monthly meeting on February 1. Representatives from The Open Door, Action Inc. SeniorCare Inc., NeedyMeds, North Shore YMCA, Backyard Growers, and Bonneville Design attended the meeting. The discussion focused on priority setting for 2023 and the upcoming 2nd Annual WellFest that will take place in Rockport this year. Please see below for the group’s top priorities for this year:
- Employee Wellness Programs & Incentives
- Cooking Demo with The Open Door on Healthy Food
- Cross Promoting Committee Member Resources & creation of a Wellness Resource Library
- 2nd Annual WellFest
We later heard some updates from Action Inc, on their fuel assistance program. They are working on ensuring that those who are struggline to pay for utilities are aware of their program and have the opportunity to take advantage of it. Further, SeniorCare Inc. Announced their 49th annual Meals on Wheels Breakfast Fundraiser that will take place on March 31. We Also heard that The Open Door is relaunching their Build A Meal Program, which is a similar model to meal kit services like Blue Apron. Backyard Growers has opened applications for their Community Garden Program, Backyard Garden Program, and their GrowBag Garden Program. Applications are available in Portuguese, Spanish and English.
