Local Colors Artists Cooperative is a community of artists in the heart of Gloucester’s Main Street. The Co-op offers a dynamic selection of original art, oils and watercolors, relief paintings, sculpture, photography, semi-precious and eclectic jewelry,
fiber art, metal art, basket art, useful pottery, original stained glass art, mobiles, handmade greeting cards and more.
The ever-changing artist displays and themed group shows ensure a new “find” with every visit, at affordable prices offering something for everyone and any occasion. In the fall of 1989 a group of artists opened the cooperative in a storefront on Main Street in Gloucester for only the holiday season. That season came and went, but the Local Colors members continued month by month and grew in size as well as popularity.
Now in their 30th year and well established as a local business. The gallery reflects many themes including reflections of Cape Ann, nature and the fishing industry. Members take turns working in the gallery and operating the cooperative. The cooperative is an ever-changing community and is always looking for new talent and artists to share this creative and unique experience.
Local Colors is open Monday-Sunday, 10 AM to 6 PM (5 PM Jan, Feb, Mar).
