Who are you and what is your business?
Balsam Technologies Inc. is an IT Managed Service Provider founded in 2003 by Steve and Laura Sirois. BTI is headquartered in Gloucester, Massachusetts, and has been enhancing IT services for businesses and organizations on the North Shore of Boston and beyond for over 20 years.
Please provide a brief description of your company.
BTI provides custom, managed IT support solutions for businesses and organizations helping them use technology to streamline their business operations and increase productivity. Our foundational services include computer and network installation, management, and support, Microsoft 365 and other cloud migrations, cybersecurity and compliance, help desk support, and data backup management to name a few. We also are authorized resellers and certified partners for most major brands such as Microsoft, HPE, HP, Dell, Lenovo, Cisco, Allworx, and many others.
What inspired you to start your business and what keeps you going?
BTI is inspired by the need for quality technology services made simple and convenient for businesses of all sizes and industries. Helping customers to have the right technology and support in place allows them peace of mind to focus on doing what they do best. Our intention is to always provide cutting-edge IT solutions to our clients.
What aspect of your business are you most passionate about?
BTI is most passionate about delivering quality IT support that delivers measurable returns on technology investment for our clients.
Is there something unique about your business that you’d like to share that most people wouldn’t know about?
BTI provides both onsite and remote support, installation, and technology maintenance services of varying kinds with industry-certified technicians who reside locally.
What sets your business apart from other similar businesses?
BTI sets itself apart from other companies by staying current with industry trends and successfully helping businesses and organizations adapt their technology in a rapidly evolving marketplace.
Do you have a goal you want the business to achieve in the next one, 5 or 10 years?
Balsam will continue to grow and expand it’s service offerings with new and emerging technologies that help businesses streamline their technology-related operations and productivity while also staying three steps ahead of the latest cybersecurity threats.
Why do you love the Greater Cape Ann region and doing business locally?
BTI is proud to be servicing Greater Cape Ann not only because we have local roots and appreciate the historical charm of the area, but also because we understand the community’s needs in which we serve.
As someone doing business in this area, how has or how can the Chamber help your business?
The Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce provides businesses with necessary community linkage. They keep us up to date with what is happening around us and afford us the opportunity to be a part of enhancing the professional business services offered to the Cape Ann community and beyond. As a Chamber member, we are thankful to be included in this spotlight.
