Ocean Optical is the premier optical establishment on Cape Ann! We have the latest lens designs available, the newest frame styles, and the best customer service.
How long have you been in business?
Ocean Optical is 25 years young and going strong!
Is there anything new with your business/coming up this year that you’d like to share?
Ocean Optical is commemorating the year 2020, “the year of visions” with several instore promotions. The best one is a raffle for a free pair of glasses valued up to $800! You must visit us and register to win.
How and why did you start your business?
After being in the optical business for 20 years and working for other people, my husband and I decided it was time to start my own business and do things my way! I have never looked back.
What aspect of your business are you most passionate about?
I take a lot of pride in my optical shop. I want people to feel welcomed, comfortable and important when they walk in. It is a warm, clean, bright shop with staff that are knowledgeable, and love what we do!
Are you known for anything special?
You are not a number when you visit Ocean Optical. Everyone gets undivided attention, personal service, it’s always one on one. We are about you and your eyes!
Is there something unique about your business that you’d like to share with the community that most people don’t know about?
You can purchase eyewear anywhere now. Warehouse stories, online, department stores… they are all SELLING you glasses. I like to think I am fitting you to the best glasses that your eyes deserve. To me, it is a profession… not a retail item.
What is your best advice for small business owners?
Treat your customers like you would like to be treated. Service is what sets small businesses apart!
What other Cape Ann Businesses are you inspired by?
There are so many that come to mind! Sage Florist, Mark Adrian Shoes, Common Crow… all wonderful, hardworking members of Cape Ann.
Why do you love Cape Ann?
I love Cape Ann and all it has to offer! The ocean, the quarries, the open space, the sense of community. What is not to love!
What do you value most about your chamber membership?
Number one to me is the many networking events that are offered! It is nice to meet new contacts, and refresh old. There is always something being offered!
