Who are you and what is your business?
My name is Muffy White the owner/founder/lead organizer at Muffy White Organizing & Styling (MWOS), we are based in Gloucester, were founded in 2012 and are a team of seven strong women.
Please provide a brief description of your company.
MWOS is a professional organizing and concierge moving company. We help homes and businesses develop systems that support calm, clutter free and efficient living. During the moving process we take the stress away! We offer complete project management, home staging, packing, unpacking and all the details in between
What inspired you to start your business and what keeps you going?
I am a natural born organizer and have always offered this skill to my friends and family (I have never met a linen closet I do not want to refold!)
Twelve years ago two different friends reached out for support in their homes – I happily said yes! The experience and their feedback that “people need this service” was the push I needed and MWOS was born. The happiness and sense of relief from our clients is what keeps us going – every area organized, home staged, house/business moved and unpacked has a happy client at the end. That is a powerful motivator!
What aspect of your business are you most passionate about?
MWOS is incredibly proud of our client relationships – it is a mutual love fest. We have clients we have
been working with for over ten years! We have supported families through all of life’s happenings:
weddings, births, deaths, graduations, upsizing, downsizing. We are honored to be invited into peoples
homes and lives.
Is there something unique about your business that you’d like to share that most people wouldn’t know about?
We are very creative! Every “problem area” has a myriad of solutions – so even when our clients feel stuck
we are undaunted! We have worked in over 300 homes and gained an incredible amount of knowledge
through experience. When you invite us in – you will not be sorry!
What sets your business apart from other similar businesses?
Every business is as unique as the people doing the work – at MWOS we are not only very talented at organizing, decluttering and managing home moves WE LOVE IT! The energy and fun we bring to every job is a trademark that cannot be taught.
Do you have a goal you want the business to achieve in the next one, 5 or 10 years?
MWOS wants to support as many homes and businesses to reach their organizational goals.
…And maybe a reality show about the moving business!!!!
Why do you love the Greater Cape Ann region and doing business locally?
We are so lucky to live in such a beautiful place and our clients feel the same way. Helping homes feel
comfortable, calm and simplified is the perfect compliment to life on the North Shore – where your home
is your haven. We want people to look forward to getting home!
As someone doing business in this area, how has or how can the Chamber help your business?
We have felt great support from the Chamber: in events both social & educational and introductions to the great other businesses in the area. Supporting each other locally is essential in a service business like ours. We do an incredible amount of collaborating with local businesses and organizations in our projects.
