Who are you, and what is your business?
Apothecary Suil Crow is an Olde World Apothecary Practitioners Shop located at 9 Whistlestop Mall in Rockport, MA. The shop is a woman-owned and run business. Rebeccah Pearson (owner) has been in business for over 15 years and celebrates her 4th year at her brick and mortar location this year.
Please provide a brief description of your company.
We carry a wide range of products, including handmade creations by various local artists including the owner, Rebeccah. 85% of the store is made in the United States of America. There are also items from England, Ireland, and Scotland as well as Scandinavia. The shop is a gift for all occasions with a little touch of magic. It is open year-round and offers free parking right out front of the store and handicap, accessible shopping and doorway.
The shop also offers daily spiritual readings, including tarot card, mediumship work, definition, and palmistry.
What inspired you to start your business and what keeps you going?
The owner of the shop is an old-world folk practitioner by five generations. Throughout her years, she has learned through the assistance of family members and like-minded individuals the power that the universe holds to heal on a natural basis. In turn, we provide that information to our customers.
Throughout the years, practitioners’ work have taken different twists and turns, and we are here to re-educate people on what practitioner work is all about, not your spooky season in Salem.
What aspect of your business are you most passionate about?
Providing a place underneath of the roof of the shop for local crafters of all kinds to be able to sell their creations. Also assisting the community by offering a free food pantry and free herbal garden outside our shop to to help feed those of the community with foodinsecurities. There are many different aspects to our store that we love.
Is there something unique about your business that you’d like to share that most people wouldn’t know about?
We honestly truly are one of a kind there is no shop or boutique that is similar to ours in anyway . We have unique items and a unique approach to helping customers find what they need to assist them in their desired will. …… you simply have to come by to see it for yourself!
What sets your business apart from other similar businesses?
Everything. We offer a safe haven for everyone that needs some help and guidance along the way. We offer specialty items such oils, lotions, jams, jellies, marmalades, and preserves handmade jewelry, handmade home decor, and so much more.
Do you have a goal you want your business to achieve in the next one, 5 or 10 years?
We are hoping to expand our business to a couple more towns in the area keeping the Rockport location. It’s main base. We are hoping by us expanding and having additional locations that we can continue to help the surrounding communities is the way that we have helped Rockport and Gloucester.
Why do you love the Greater Cape Ann region and doing business locally?
There’s nothing not to love between compassion, love of community enjoyment of the area the availability to know your customers on a one on one base it truly is a magical place all on its own.
As someone doing business in this area, how has or how can the Chamber help your business?
I think thinking outside the box is a good way to start and to remember that not all stores are centrally located that there are hidden gems off to the sides, and they deserve every single bit of appreciation and attention as any others that are out there. And also to look at those that are truly part of the community that support community in more ways than one.
